Research to Policy Engagement: Mapping urban transit in Nairobi and its policy implications

African cities are rapidly growing and laying down transportation infrastructure and systems with impacts well into the future. Exploring the politics of decision making in the sector and using Nairobi as a case study, this talk explores a Digital Data Commons approach to supporting more equitable and effective policies, planning and investments for African cities to avoid high emissions-low livability lock in.
Join us for this conversation on urban development, data and planning with Dr. Jacqueline Klopp, Co-Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, and
Benjamin de la Pena, Founder/Director of Agile City Partners and author/curator of Makeshift Mobility.
TPP’s Research to Policy Engagement Initiative aims to to create a community of researchers who can learn, apply, and contribute to developing best practices in bridging knowledge to action on societal challenges, across experiences in different research domains. The initiative seeks to connect researchers from diverse disciplines, policymakers and other stakeholders interested in the implementation aspects of technology by creating a discussion space for technology-policy interfaces.
