Bringing together voices from around the world, the MIT Technology and Policy Program (TPP) marked its 50th anniversary with a landmark symposium celebrating a half-century of education, research, and impact—while looking ahead to the defining technology policy issues of the future.

TPPers Anthony Valiaveedu and Nat Edmonds co-author first-of-its-kind handbook that serves as guide for design safety for civilian nuclear ships.

TPP student Strahinja Janjusevic’s research aims to secure maritime systems from GPS and AIS spoofing by developing a hybrid AI framework that combines deep learning, control theory, and cybersecurity. During his internship with Vectra AI, he expanded this work by exploring how AI agents can be used in offensive security and demonstrated how encrypted model communications could be exploited for covert cyber operations.
